Leap of Faith (level 85): Pull a party or raid member to your location. Leap of Faith (or "Life Grip") is intended to give priests a tool to help rescue fellow players who have pulled aggro, are being focused on in PvP, or just can't seem to get out of the fire in time. Instant. 30-yard range. 45-second cooldown.
Where was this on Sarth+3? =) WTB. WTB TIMES A THOUSAND. -j

Man, that 45 second cooldown is going to seem like forever, but --- MY GOD THIS IS AWESOME!
My brain can't possibly handle all the computations of thoughts I have running through my mind right now of how this awesome mechanic can be used-- from serious raiding, to messing around/joking around to pvp, etc, to PUGS -- OMG HOW MUCH FUN IN PUGS CAN I HAVE WITH THIS. They better just ban my account now.
Ghull begins to cast Shadowbolt on Festergut. Omegaman casts Life Grip on Ghull. Ghull has been affected by Life Grip. Ghull's spell cast was interrupted. Omegaman swats Ghull with a newspaper.

When I saw that "party or raid member" made me a bit sad... ruins a lot of the amusing applications... but i guess you could still jump off something and levitate and grab a party member and throw them to their death for laughs

Most of the applications I'm envisioning are things like....someone gets tagged with "Gaseous Bloat", and we pull them 30 yards away - no DPS loss to them pre-bloat, so they can keep nuking.

I forsee the occasional situation (particularly in bad-guilds) where people use this as an excuse to be terrible and make the healer (as usual) bail them out, but still, this is like the most easily envisioned OMG THIS SAVES OUR BACON ability I've seen bliz put out in awhile.
(I also have a feeling that Iron Will is going to be up a lot more often then Inner Fire. I wonder if the runspeed will or won't stack with runspeed enchants. Probably won't.)

I love the idea that healing priests gain an affinity for particular roles as they successfully cast more and more spells that showcase that role.
*That's* pretty slick.

You'd be surprised you kind of get used to having dg at 35 seconds. I would literally put it on my bar the same location as a taunt

I hope they keep the Life Grip idea, but they'll probably have to make some tweaks. Like "Air Sickness" (forbearance) or something on the Priest and his Grip-target, so you can't chain it around. Like
- Omega 30 yards from Lich King, everyone else on his ass. - Defile targets on Furball - Omega grips furball away, defile drops under them. - Liloya + Wye grip Omega+Furball away from that
Or like - Vezax's mini-enrages, just Life Grip your tank to the opposite side. Insta-kiting. - Everything about Thorim P2 - Anything with a void zone - Someone getting trained by Aesbiorn when he's mind-controlled - Someone targeted by a blood beast (or someone with MotFC to pull them into melee range)
There's other potential synergies, too - 2 resto shaman throw Healing Rains over an area, put a priest in it, have him Life Grip someone into the cloud (little contrived but it's a thought)
This is probably the most overpowered "heal" spell in the game, even with a 35 or 45 second cooldown. It's better than a battle rez, ffs.

If this has a 45 second cooldown, it's easily the worst spell ever introduced into the game. i don't want every single boss strat based on having 5 priests having to use that spell to exploit and cheese every encounter. or worse, if they design encounters around spells like that, than 5 priests aren't really a luxury, but a necessity.
even if you use it for it's intended purposes, which is to save someone from instant death via void zones or aggro, priest go from being healers/dpsers to babysitters bailing people out shit they shouldn't be doing anyway. Every time INSTANTDEATHABILITY comes off cd, I not only have to get out of it myself but watch out for Idiot #1 and Idiot #2 to get them out if they're still standing on top of it.
and can you imagine how much of a douche you can be in general with an ability like that at your disposal? half of Goon Squad just rolled priests.

45s is too low, sure. I figure they need to make it more like a 2 or 3 minute CD, sort of a HoP. I mean, we don't expect our paladins to stand around and set up HoP rotations (shut up about anub) to save people from aggro pulls, partly because of the CD and because you're asking people to not be dumb.

This spell has been discussed alot as a joke months ago, it's actually cool that they introduce it.
there's going to be 2 main possible use for that
A) saving douches who stand in fire
B) Being a key part to an encounter (Typhoon on DS, DG on Anub/Malyogs etc..)
I think it's a pretty cool spell!

LOL This is awesome. I might have to transfer my priest back over for some fun. I can also see a lot of griefing opportunities though - like in randoms, you get some douchebag that just repeatedly life grips the tank. Or in PvP or WG - some alliance dude with a priest alt (HAH, i know one of those!) that just sits around gripping people away from battles.

A lot of these griefing problems are no different than, say, Tricksing your healers in randoms, Misdirecting someone, BoPing the tank, etc. There's always things you can do to be a d-bag. LG on a 45s cooldown is like, 30 yards every 45 seconds. So it's not *that* bad.
