Here's the home for all the Cataclysm discussion/speculation/theorycrafting.  This expansion really shakes up many of our notions of how the game has developed in the past few years and has reverted many aspects of this game back to its Vanilla roots.

I have beta access and plan on leveling at least my priest/mage to 85 as well as questing and running instances/raids.  If you have any questions related to the beta that you can't find answers to elsewhere, please feel free to post here, and I or anyone else who eventually gets beta access can help try to answer.  Important posts containing vital changes to the game will be stickied to aid in easier reference and further discussion.

Also, this post will remain updated with who has beta access, what toons they have copied or are leveling there and what server they are on for reference.

The feral stuff is so unfinished it's not really useable.

The worgen starter zone is pretty slick - they're *really* figured out how to do phasing.

DPS dk's feels just fine.  Somethings are very funky with dk tanking right now.  Not having a 15 sec D&D blows big monkey balls.  Plus there are some UI errors and how death runes are handled

If you are having trouble logging into the server change the file

\World of Warcraft Beta\Data\enUS\realmlist.wtf

Change the line "set portal public-beta" to "set portal public-test"

also if you run sli, turn it off, blizzard screwed that one up again.

Random notes...
- Goblin starter zone is just as solid as Worgen and DK. Recommend you do it just for kicks at some point.
- My goblin is a shaman (Djgubbles) and low-level shaman is much much better than it is on live, even without heirlooms. Pre-10 you can just melee+Shield to get things dead, or spam Lightning Bolt. It all works. At 10, you pick enhancement and get Lava Lash (and you've gotten lightning shield, earth shock, and primal strike along the way) and you can just steamroll things -- assuming you remembered to keep the OTHER weapon you got as a quest reward. Otherwise, you have to wait until *13* before you get another as a quest reward. Anyway, heirlooms are 100% unnecessary at low levels now. Everything falls over in 4 hits anyway.
- Goblin animations and whatnot absolutely own.
- Entering Orgrimmar for the first time, especially without a flying mount, is awkward. You don't know where anything is - not to mention Garrosh's throne room is now where the bank used to be.
