* RL Name:
   Matt

* How old are you?:
   23

* Character Name:
   Icitrik

* Current Realm (For transfers only):
   Maiev

* Class:
    Rogue

* Level:
    80

* Spec:
    51/18/2 Mutiliate (Primary Spec)
    53/18/0 Utility Mutiliate (For fights where I need/want crippling poison for utility over dps)
   20/51/0 Combat (For fights with a lot of movement where combat takes usually takes the lead)

* What glyphs do you use for your main spec, what is your reasoning:
Mutiliate: Less energy per use means more combo points per point of energy which means more     envenom uptime.

Hunger For Blood: An effective 3% damage bonus is pretty damn decent for a Glyph and to be honest, there isn't much choice for Assassination Rogues at the moment in the Glyph department.

Fan of Knives: While it doesn't speed up many boss fights, a 20% bonus to this with two 1.8 speed daggers means I do an incredibly large amount of damage to trash. The alternative to this is Tricks of the Trade and while I understand that 4 seconds longer on a 15 percent DPS buff is probably a better single target choice in terms of overall raid DPS, I prefer Fan of Knives. This is entirely situational though and I am in no way married to this choice.

* Do you have dual-spec? If so, what is it?:
My dual-spec rotates about once or twice a week to be honest. When I was originally raiding in WOTLK, I'd have it set to Combat so that I could swap between the specs depending on which spec was better for the specific encounter. This doesn't work so well at the moment as my Combat weapons are significantly lacking behind that of my daggers so it's usually a PVP build. I have no problem re-speccing three or four times in a week as the actual cost at this point is negligible.

* If you have a dual-spec are you proficient enough with your other spec to use it in a raid setting?:
I raided as a Combat Rogue all the way through classic and was stuck as it throughout TBC due to Warglaives. I keep up to date on spreadsheets, what to gem and when and would have absolutely no problem swapping between them except that without duplicate gear pieces it'd be expensive to re-gem or entirely ineffective.

In short: If I had the gear for both, absolutely.

* List the name(s) of your current/past alts:
I'm going to go ahead and link the armories.

My shaman has a lot of my raid achievements from the Ulduar area as I temporarily swapped to it as a primary character in order to assist the guild with downing content during a rough patch. Please note that yes, it is gemmed for Int due to the fact that my guild was working on the Heroic Vezax encounter when I last played her and obviously, you want a large mana pool.

My paladin has a lot of raid achievements from the Naxx / Malygos era including Realm First Level 80 Blood Elf.

The third character is one that I raided with from time to time to fill holes that the guild needed and is sometimes played by my wife.

* List your previous guilds and why you left:
I've been in what could be described as an epic fuck-ton of guilds since I began playing this game in Classic. I'm going to list what is relevant to this application and hope you don't hold it against me for paraphrasing.

Pacifist. This was a raiding guild early on into classic that had several server firsts including Ragnaros, Onyxia and BWL.

Serious Business. This was a classic re-roll guild that launched three months before the release of Naxx. I was the raid-leader and officer in what I could say was possibly the most extreme / hard-core guild I've ever been in. Our raid hours were 5 to 6 days a week, 6 to 10 hours a day; starting at level 1, it took us a period of two and a half months to clear all the content up through C-Thun. While I can't explain to you how much of an accomplishment this actually is unless you played during that era, It's incredibly difficult to have to plan a raid on Nefarian around only having 8-12 Onyxia scale cloaks. Ice Blocks, Paladin Bubbles and hiding behind a throne brings a whole new difficult to encounters. Without getting into a huge rant about how much I loved this period of my 'WoW Career' (except for Huhuran. Fuck that Bitch!), It's really really fun to have to fight encounters being massively under-geared.

I Heart Ponies. This was a guild I led for a period from release of WOTLK up until a few weeks before the launch of ToC. It started as a casual guild with some real-life friends and blew up into a full-fledged 25 man raiding guild that was able to kill 25 man 3-Drake Sarth before the release of Ulduar. This guild eventually fell apart due to a decaying core, a lack of interest in the current content and loss of a few critical members (read: three of our core healers) to an increasingly difficult college load.

* Why Plaguechill?:
I've recently came back to this game after a break after the fate of my most recent guild in order to play with some real-life friends but found that anything but the most hard-core, bleeding edge raiding content really bored me. Sure, it's great to hang around with your friends but when they only play 2 hours a day or don't really like raiding, it doesn't leave you much to do. I play to raid, progress and work together with others towards a common goal.

* Have you ever applied here before? If so on what character(s):
No.

* Do you have any references within the guild?:
None. This is a random application spawned from a post on the forum of a random comedy site.
I can say that I'm willing to transfer here and run in alt / pug runs in order to prove myself. I have no doubt in my own abilities and would love to show you guys I know what's going on.

* Have you read our guild charter and policies?:
Yes.

* We generally raid between 7:30-11:30 PM EST Sunday-Wed if there's enough content. Will you be able to keep a high attendance rate with these raid times?:
100% 24/7/365. I'll raid on Christmas.

* We use a loot council to determine where an upgrade is best put to use. Our goal is challenge and achievements - loot is merely the tool needed for these. Do you have an issue with this?
I thrive for achievements, progress and new content. I play almost every game I own on 'hard' before 'easy' and see loot as a required to achieving a goal and not as the end game itself.

* Post your armory (remember to log out in the correct gear):
http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Maiev&cn=Icitrik&gn=Disabled+Gamers

* Given that armory doesn't always work, or show offset/unequipped items, please list any other gear you have that you feel is important to your desired raid role:

I know I have gear with armor penetration equipped. I apologize for my insolence and recognize that this is no-where near optimal. I am in a situation where I'm working with what I can get.

I have enough gold on hand to buy both the iLvl 264 BOE Chest and Neck and will do so if accepted. I realize this looks bad but I'm sort of waiting to get into a guild worth spending 30k on before throwing down the cash and having it drop in a pug the next week. I recognize my gear isn't exactly up to the par of what your guild is receiving via other applicants and will continue to make strives to improve this without assistance.

My expertise is currently at 23. I recognize this is not optimal and am in the process of re-gemming my gear so that I can reach the cap of 26.

I usually swap to two 1.8 daggers for trash / fan of knives spam for increased damage.

* Do you have a WWS, World of Logs or some other combat log of a recent raid?  We very rarely consider those without logs.  If you want to get logs and don't know how, check http://www.worldoflogs.com/help/ :

* Do you have Ventrilo and a mic? Can you be on Ventrilo in raids without lagging or D/Cing?:
I have Ventrilo and a Mic. I have no problems actually communicating via voice and recognize the importance of voice communication to a successful raid. I'm not an idiot and will be listening when you call my name.

* Is your internet connection/computer stable?  Please go to http://www.pingtest.net/ and take the test, then click "copy forum link" and paste the code into your app.:
I have fiber internet and it's pretty close to 100 percent stable. I rarely if at all have problems with connections.

* Are you comfortable giving and taking constructive criticism? (IMPORTANT Note: Constructive does not involve the words Scrub, Noob or Fgt):
I thrive in an environment that uses constructive criticism in order to improve each other. I know that I am not perfect and can only improve myself if I am aware of potential problems that could be detrimental to my performance.

* What is your favorite boss encounter? Why?
I have several encounters that I particularly enjoy.

Vaelstraz is a great fight as a rogue because of unlimited energy and no cooldown bandage making.
Baron Geddon is only done properly if every bomb attempts to blow up the main tank.

In terms of execution and skill required, Firefighter was a great fight. A lot of people will say Yogg-Saron was their favorite but I found it to just be almost a sort of 'rehash' of cThun.

* Tell us about yourself in a short paragraph. This should contain information about you IRL:
I work for a major software company that a few people may recognize if they are familiar with web-design at all. I work a 'graveyard' shift which means my work starts about an hour after your raids end; this also means that I don't have much of a social life due to my hours and thus have less interfering with my raiding Tongue

I'm constantly available via cell-phone, text-message and IM. I'm one of those guys who are used to the old method of calling your guild members when a world spawn is up Smiley

* What else do you have to offer the guild?:
I'm a rogue. I know that there are only 2, 3, MAYBE 4 slots in the guild for a full-time raiding rogue and that there are probably dozen of applicants. I recognize that in order to earn my raid slot I'll need to go above and beyond what other applicants and potential members do in order to earn my spot. I have no problems farming and providing fish feasts, flasks and will always come prepared.

I have significant raiding experience.

Why did I bold and italicize something that almost everyone who is going to apply here can offer you?
I've played in every expansion and I've seen nearly every encounter this game has released. I can probably tell you the strategy for tanking any boss in Classic or TBC off the top of my head and love theory-crafting based off current and past knowledge. I'm the real deal so to speak; I consider myself to be a top 1% player and absolutely thrive in an environment with likeminded people. I'm not the type of guy who stops logging in to hard mode liche king attempts, I'm the type of player who shows up an hour early, stays an hour late, watches every video from multiple points of view and reads the strategy ten times over hoping to find something that can improve future attempts. I have a passion for raiding; I remember the times when you didn't even have a real way to view an entire raid and had to pretty much only heal your own group. I remember when druids were healer gimmicks with innervate and battle rezz, etc, etc.

I'm active on guild forums and ventrilo. I love strategy, theory-craft and shooting the shit with the best of them. I love winning.

I'm a platinum level 2v2 player in Starcraft 2, top 10 player in CoH and I love me some DoTA/HoN (although regrettably I'm not as good as I should be). I absolutely love bonding and playing with my guild mates outside of WoW and believe it or not, I'm pretty normal outside of the game. I'm here to make friends, be passionate about my hobby and enjoy life.

* How did you hear about us?

This is a temporary place-holder for notes after I finish the application process.

*Putting together some logs for you guys. Would you prefer pug raids or dummy dps? I don't have access to a reliable ICC 25.

*At work now, will have a ping test up within the next two hours.

Any raid parse will do. if you can't do ICC 25, Toravon will give us a pretty good idea of what we're working with.

+ many internets to you for a really well written app  Cheesy

This is the first log I could get, I'm working on getting more competitive 25 man logs but I'm having issues finding a group I feel comfortable running with.

This is 10m Ignis. It's a stokin' the furnace kill but that means absolutely nothing now.

My mistakes: I forgot to modify my tricks macro to another dps in the pug so I had to do it manually, this reduced my energy regeneration and overall damage some.

Reasons why this log sucks: I got pocketed right at the beginning of Bloodlust.

It's going to be Tuesday before I can get a 25 man VOA / ICC log for you guys.

My DPS (which I know comes into question mostly because of the lack of overall gear) on most fights in ICC10 with sub-optimal buffs comes to around 11-12k on bosses which stay still and allow a constant rotation. I believe with optimal raid buffs in a 25 man setting that I could potentially scale as high as 13 or 14k in ICC25.

I can also dodge fire; I think that while I have a specific lack of hard modes in this specific tier of raid, You can see on a few of my alts the Ulduar level hard mode achievements and their dates of completion to understand that I don't have a problem with learning mechanics quickly and being able to comprehend the level of play that's required in hard modes.
